Calm is Profitability

Came across this passage from 37Signals. Found it resonating to identify what calm is, at least within the context of work, because in this high performing environment today, anxiety is prevalent and calm is scarce.

Calm is profitability.
Calm is protecting people’s time and attention.
Calm is reasonable expectations.
Calm is about 40 hours of work a week.
Calm is ample time off.
Calm is smaller.
Calm is a visible horizon.
Calm is meetings as a last resort.
Calm is contextual communication.
Calm is asynchronous first, real-time second.
Calm is more independence, less interdependence.
Calm is about sustainable practices that can run for the long-term.

The Bible too, encourages us.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

True peace comes from letting go of our worries and trusting in a higher power.

Stay calm.
