Staying Grounded as You Climb

As we climb the career ladder, it's often become surrounded by peers who relate on the same frequency. We must equally remember to maintain our connection to those still finding their footing on the ground.

Every man is our brother, and every man's burden is our own. Where poverty exists, all are poorer. Where hate flourishes, all are corrupted. Where injustice reigns, all are unequal."

Whitney M. Young Jr

Our successes do not exist in a vacuum. We are all interconnected, and the struggles of others impact us all, whether we realize it or not. Our ability to relate to and understand the challenges faced by others is an important component of a fulfilling life.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Philippians 2:3-4

In the end, our legacy will be defined not just by how high we climbed, but by how many we lifted up along the way., and it starts with the home.
